Who We Are
Caliper Controls is a Manufacturer's Representative firm founded by
Todd Shearer and Andy Herum providing motion control and automation products to clients in the New
England area. We have over 30 years of experience direct in the motion control industry, and provide sales
and deep technical support for a select number of motion control and automation products.
Caliper had its beginnings in Galil Motion Control, where Todd and Andy spent a combined thirty years in
the application engineering, sales and production departments. Caliper uses this history and experience to
provide exceptional technical sales and support to our manufactures and customers.

Todd Shearer has worked in the motion control industry with Galil Motion Control since 1997,
and has worked directly in the New England area since 2003. He has a background in Mechanical
Engineering and is well versed in machine level Electrical, Software and Controls Engineering.
Once moving to the New England area he became heavily involved in direct customer sales and support as the
Northeast Regional Technical Advisor for Galil Motion Control. In that time he was instrumental
in addressing technical concerns, fostering relationships and providing factory support and
feedback. Prior to that he spent 7 years as a Sr. Applications Engineer direct at the Galil factory.

Andy Herum worked at Galil Motion Control as an Application Engineer for 8 years starting in 2005. In 2013
he took over as the Quality Manager where he was in charge of the Galil’s ISO 13485 certification as well
as the production equipment, staff and day-day operations. He has a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering
and is well versed in machine level Electrical, Software and Controls Engineering.
As a Senior Applications Engineer he gained a thorough understanding of the motion control industry and
what is required to make an application successful. His strong debugging skills and applications experience
were further utilized as the QA Manager where he successfully guided Galil through 3 years of customer
and ISO 9001 and 13485 audits while increasing throughput and overall quality of shipped product.
Our Services
Product and Customer Support
The number one goal of Caliper Controls is to provide exceptional service and support to our customers. We succeed only
when our customers succeed in getting their products to market, and we will use our extensive experience in the Motion Control
Industry to make sure this happens.
Integration
We offer select integration services for our customers that require additional support in order to get their products to market.
These services include machine programming, software and hardware integration and system tuning.
Training
We offer on-site customer training as well as scheduled technical training seminars.

We have over 30 years of experience direct in the motion control industry, and provide sales and deep technical support
for a limited lineup of motion control and automation products. We have a long history with OEMs in the territory, and
look forward to introducing additional product lines to our new and existing OEMs.
